I was recently sent a Semilac UV Gel polish for review and as I'm a huge fan of doing my own gels at home, I couldn't wait to give it a try.
Semilac is different from the majority of other gel polishes on the market as it is a Hybrid UV gel. The website describes the products as "an innovative combination of gel, UV and nail polish properties
available in a fantastic range of colours. Offering a high gloss finish
alongside superior, long-lasting performance, our UV Hybrid range will
revolutionise the way you manicure your nails". This is an interesting concept so I was intrigued to see how it would compare to other gel polishes that I own.
I was sent the shade Violet Gray to try which is a really beautiful grey toned purple and it is perfect for this time of year.
The gel was very quick and easy to apply and the formula was fantastic. I used 2 thin coats for the swatch above and it covered really nicely and dried very evenly. I wasn't sent a base or top coat from Semilac so I used one that I already own so once that was applied, the manicure had a beautiful glossy finish.
In comparison to other gel polishes that I own, I would say that this is one of the best that I have tried in terms of formula and finish, which I put down to the unique hybrid concept. I applied the gels 5 days ago and so far they are still 100% perfect, but I will update this post with a picture after 1 week worth of wear.

Overall, I'm really impressed with Semilac and wouldn't hesitate to buy more of their gels. They are fantastic quality and at just £8.75 for the UV gels, they are a great buy.
As well as doing gels, Semilac also sell regular nail poilsh, UV nail art gel and salon quality gel. You can find their website here and they are also on Instagram @semilac_uk.
Have you tried Semilac before? Let me know in the comments.
