Models Own Holochrome Eyeshadow & Lip Gloss Review

I recently won a giveaway on Models Own Instagram page and was lucky enough to receive the brand new Holochrome collection. I thought I would start by reviewing the lip glosses and eyeshadow palette from the collection as they are so gorgeous.

The first thing I loved about the collection was the packaging, it is to die for!! It looks so pretty yet classy with the metallic finish and would definitely bring out your inner mermaid!

Holochrome Lip Glosses: Cosmos Pink, Moonlight and Laser Lilac - £6.99 each.

The glosses are quite sheer but very sparkly. They're totally unique and I have nothing else like this in my collection. They can be applied alone for a sheer shimmery finish with a hint of colour, but I find that these come to life when layered over lipsticks of a similar shade. I used Cosmos Pink over the top of one of my pink NYX Liquid Suede lipstick and the effect was beautiful. I wouldn't wear these on a daily basis for work, but they're lovely for the weekend or an evening out.

Holochrome Eyeshadow Palette - £19.99

This palette really is stunning and is by far my favourite item from the collection. The colours are so unusual but there is something for every eye colour in here. The glitter and shimmer shades can either be used alone on the lid for a more subtle sparkly finish or they can be layer over the matte brown or matte black shades in the palette for a more intense look.

The swatches below are show over bareskin.

I layered Vivid over the top of Matte Black, and Opaline over the Matte Brown which shows how intense and beautiful the colours become when layered over the matte shades.

The shadows are really smooth and very easy to work with but there is some fall out from the more glittery shades, but I think that is to be expected. The little brush that comes with the palette is also quite handy for blending out the matte shades and packing the glitter on the top.

I was also sent the Holochrome makeup bag from the collection which is really pretty and is a good size for stashing everyday make up in. The bag retails for £8.99.

I'm so impressed with this collection so far and I love how unique it is. You can find all of the products on the Models Own website here.

I will be doing a separate post on the nail polishes so make sure you keep an eye out for that coming soon.

Have you tried anything from this collection? What do you like the look of the most? Let me know in the comments.
