New No7 Goodies

 Hello lovelies,

Sorry I've been absent for the past week, I haven't been very well and haven't had the energy to post. Anyway, in a bid to cheer myself up, I treated myself to some new make up from my favourite brand, No7.

I have been after a new foundation for a little while now as every one I have tried in the past has never been right. The wrong shade, too heavy, too drying…the usual reasons. I did a little bit of research online and found No7 Stay Perfect Superlight Foundation. This sounded perfect to me, as super light is what I was looking for.

I popped into my local Boots store as I know that you can get the colour matching done as I'd previously had it done for my lipstick. The lady was extremely helpful and was happy to do the colour matching for me. My true colour is 'Calico'. Calico is the lightest shade they do, and being super pale, I wasn't surprised by this at all! ;) I mentioned the foundation that I was interested in and she very kindly offered to apply it for me so that I could make sure I was 100% happy…and I was.

The foundation really is super lightweight and incredibly blend-able. It literally melted into my skin. Not only that, but it is the perfect colour for me. As you can see from the picture below it is a really pale shade, so fellow vampire-skin girls out there, take note!

Unlike most foundations I have tried, this didn't sink straight into my pores and highlight all of the bad areas of my skin. It effortlessly sits on top on the skin, without looking like it has been caked on.

A little also seems to go a really long way which is important when it isn't the biggest bottle in the world. This product retails at £14.50 for 30ml which is rather pricey when compared to a lot of high streets brands, but I would say that it is definitely worth the money, and is so much better than foundations I have tried in the past for a similar price.

No7 have a buy one, get one half price offer running at the moment, and because I already had a £3 off voucher, I wanted to get the most that I could for my money…so I also bought a Pop & Glow Cream Blush which was recommended to me by the lady in store.

I bought this in shade 'Classic Rose'. This isn't a shade that I would normally choose for myself, but the lady applied it after my foundation and I was really impressed with how subtle and girly the colour was. I usually opt for dusky darker colours, but after trying this shade, I now know that I have been doing it wrong all these years! *Stops to cringe*

This product can be applied with either fingers or a brush. Personally I would use a brush as recommended as you have more control over how much you are putting on, and you can really blend it in. I will hopefully do a full blog post on this product when I have had a bit more time to play around with it.

The blusher retails at £9.95 but trust me when I say that you won't have to buy a new one for quite a long time to come!

Have you got any favourite No7 products? If you have then let me know in the comments as I always love finding new products to try.

January's Glossybox

Hi lovelies,

I have a quick review of this month's Glossybox for you today. I am so impressed with this month's box, and it is 100 times better than the offerings of last January...but we won't go into that! The lovely people at Glossybox had emailed to say that there would be 5 full sized products in this box, so I was already excited before it arrived. Here is what I found inside:

First up is the MeMeMe Eye Line Pencil in 'Clay' worth £4.

I've had a MeMeMe product in a previous box and was impressed with the brand, so was more than happy with this item. The colour itself is a lovely smokey brown which makes a nice change to black. I have tried it on the back of my hand and it glides on.

Next is Nicka K New York Colorluxe Power Blush in 'Romantic' worth €8.95 (£6.95).

We were told about this product in the email from Glossybox and I have been really keen to try it. The packaging is so chic and makes the product look super expensive. You press the powder puff down and a small about of the blusher is released, so it would be pretty hard to go too overboard with it. The colour itself is so lovely and girly.

Next up is Jelly Pong Pong All Over Glow worth £10.

Again, I have tried Jelly Pong Pong from previous boxes and have been impressed with it. This is a really lovely highlighter and a really generous size. I have tried this on the back of my hand and it is really lightweight, very shimmery and a little seems to go a very long way.

The penultimate product is Kueshi Natural & Pleasant Cosmetics Revitalizing Face Toner worth €10.70 (£8.30).

I haven't heard of this brand before but it looks great and smells incredible. It has such a fresh fragrance and is packed full of goodies like chamomile and aloe vera. This is a 200ml bottle which is a fantastic size, and I'm looking forward to including it in my daily skincare regime.

Finally, I received Naked Lips Organic Lip Balm Superfruits worth €5 (£3.90).

Like most ladies, I'm a sucker for a lip balm! I go through them like they're going out of fashion, so this is a very useful product for me. It glides on and is incredibly moisturising. Not only that, but it smells delicious too, the fruity smell hits you as soon as you open it. Yummy. Plus, it's full of anti-oxidants, so what more could you want from a lip balm!

I'm so unbelievably impressed with this month's box, and I feel like Glossybox have really outdone themselves this time. The total of this box comes to: £33.15. Not bad when you consider the box itself cost just £10.

Do you subscribe to any beauty boxes, and if so which ones? And were you as impressed as I am this month?

The Trials & Tribulations of a No Buy

Hi everyone,

I hope that you have all had a lovely weekend so far, and that the weather has been a little better where you are then it has been in North Yorkshire!

Me and my lovely friend, Jayne, @starryeyed83 on Instagram,(If you aren't following her, you should be!) decided that it was time that we tried a no buy...a proper one! Over the past year, my nail polish stash has grown considerably, and I now have around 360 polishes. Not a massive number compared to a lot of people, however; over half of mine are untrieds. As soon as I see a polish I love, I have to have it. I don't ever think to myself;  "Do I really need another pastel green?" or "Do I really need that gold glitter that is exactly like the other one I have?", I just pop them in my basket and off I go. This mentality has begun to catch me up a little now as I'm fighting an un-winnable battle with my untrieds...

Both me and Jayne decided that it was time for action, and that we needed to stop neglecting the pretties that we already own. We didn't set a length of time for the no buy, but we both know that we want to last all of January, which will be an amazing feat in itself. We have done 11 days so far, and believe me when I say that it has not been easy! We treated ourselves to some goodies in the Boxing Day sales which were great as they arrived after the no buy started, but now that there are no new pretties to come, things are getting tough.

Everywhere I look I see sales and bargains galore. I torture myself by trolling through Facebook pages that have been set up specifically for people to sell polish. I see Models Own and Barry M for £1.50 and have to stop my fingers from typing "Can I have these please?". Not only that, but walking into Superdrug is a nightmare. I feel like the polish is calling my name "Buy me Sam. Take me home with you. Give me the love I deserve." I have to put my polish blinkers on, and I buy an eyeshadow or a lippy instead, just so I feel like I've satisfied my urge to buy something pretty.

Whatever anyone tells you, being a polish addict isn't easy.

In more positive news...I have managed to use 7 untrieds so far, and look at these gorgeous polishes that have been neglected in my helmer for so long. It's such a shame that I haven't given them the attention that they deserve until now, but all that will change.

I will carry on documenting my no buy journey, so stay tuned for more updates.

Thanks for reading, and let me know if you are struggling through a no buy too.
