HJ Manicure Polish Review*

I was lucky enough to be sent some nail polishes for review from the luxury indie brand, HJ Manicure. I had been eyeing up these polishes for a while so I was over the moon when Helen contacted me. I received a selection of 3 polishes in a gorgeous gift box and I loved every single shade. Here is what I thought of them.

L-R: Red Wine, Caramel Latte & Alpine Green.

As it was December and leading up to Christmas, I decided to use Red Wine first. This is a really lovely vivid red shade that is totally timeless. I never usually find myself reaching for red polish (except for Christmas) but I know that I will use this again and again. This swatch is 2 really easy coats with top coat, but even without topcoat, it dried with a super glossy gel-like finish.

Next up was Alpine Green. I'm a sucker for a green polish and this one did not disappoint. It is a lovely dark shimmery green with lots of tiny green glitters in. Like Red Wine, this was 2 easy smooth coats with top coat. The finish on this wasn't quite as glossy as Red Wine, but it's not designed to be! The perfect shimmery Christmas green.

Lastly, I used Caramel Latte which was my favourite of the 3. This is the most perfect nude polish in existence! I adore nude polishes but always find that the coverage is never enough and you have to do 3 or even 4 coats, but that was not the case at all. Like the other 2, this was 2 coats with top coat. It dried to a similar finish as Red Wine, and the glossiness was intensified with topcoat.

All of these polishes could have covered in one thick, careful coat, but I always love to do 2. The fact that they are so pigmented makes me think that they will be fantastic stamping polishes. I'm yet to try them for stamping, but I will update this post if I do.

If you are looking for a new indie polish brand to try out then do give HJ Manicure a try. The polishes retail for £9.50 which is quite expensive, but these are high quality, luxury products, up there with the likes of Nails Inc and OPI in my opinion, so they are worth the splurge.

If you sign up to the mailing list on the website, you can receive 15% off your first order, and there is also free shipping on all orders over £20 - www.hjmanicure.com

Have you tried this brand? Which colours do you like the look of? Let me know in the comments.
