Dreamlights Candles & Melts April Wax Box Review

One of the things I love nearly as much as makeup and nail polish, is wax melts so I'm always on the lookout for new brands to try. I stumbled across Dreamlights Candles & Melts on Facebook and couldn't resist ordering the monthly box to try. Here's what I got in this month's box and what I think of everything I received.

Dreamlights Candles, Wax Melts, Subscription Box

Dreamlights is a handmade independent wax company that is run by Laura and operates mainly on Facebook. There's a large selection of scents available in different sizes, and Laura is always adding more scents to her catalogue.

The box costs £12.95 including postage which is a little more expensive than some monthly wax subscription boxes, but you get more melts in this one and also a nice selection rather than just bog standard melts in a uniform shape.

Included in the box is a lovely list of everything that is included which is a really nice personal touch.

I'll start buy talking about the 4 large wax melts. The melts are a good size and have a very strong throw so could be cut in half if you want a more subtle scent. There is a really good selection of scents here; fruity, fresh and food scents. These are my favourite kind of scents so I was really happy with these.

These have a recommended burn time of 20 hours, but I like to change my wax around quite often so can't comment on that, however I had Almond Macaroon burning for around 10 hours before I removed it and it still had a lovely throw.

I also received 3 shot pots which come in really nice little pots and are deeper than the large melts. These have a very strong throw in the pot and when you melt them. I recommend using half of these because not only will it make them last longer but I don't think you need the whole melt, it would be too overpowering. You can keep the other half in the pot too until you're ready to use it again.

Again, the selection of scents is fantastic, fresh, floral and food scents, so there really is something for everyone. The burn time is great with these too.

One of the things I was most excited to try was this chocolate bar of wax which is scented like Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume. Daisy is one of my favourite perfumes so was really pleased to see this in the box. I love that this is a chocolate bar shape because it makes it so easy to chunk up and use. It already came snapped in half, so I decided to use half in my burner, but you could get away with just 3 chunks for a more subtle scent.

The final item in the box was these adorable little buttons which have a scent of Damson Plum Rose & Patchouli. The small buttons arrived broken, but that didn't bother me at all because they will only be melted down anyway. I like how different these are to the normal melts, and even though they're small, they smell really strongly. I melted these in one of my burners and even after the candle had been blown out and the wax was solidified, I could smell it every time I went into the room.

I love all of the personal touches that have been included in the box from the little gems and embellishment, to the butterfly charm which is the back of the Daisy block. It shows that so much thought and attention has gone into every single item.

There was a also a lovely little pink butterfly keyring included in this month's box which has gone straight onto my car keys!

Overall I am really impressed with my first order and first monthly box from Dreamlights. I have already signed up to the May box and will making more orders in the future. You can find the Facebook page here.

I hope that you enjoyed reading my first lifestyle post. I'll be branching out a bit more on my blog this year so expect to see more candle and wax melt posts coming your way soon.

Have you got a favourite brand of wax? Let me know in the comments.
