Primark PS Review & Giveaway

I decided that it was time to give Primark makeup another try after having a few disasters with it, so I picked up a few of the newer products to try. This post is quite photo heavy so beware, but if you make it to the end then there is a special giveaway that you can enter so it's worth while!

Everything I picked up is priced between 80p and £3 so the prices are really really reasonable.

Strobe & Contour Crayons - £3.00 each.

I was really excited when I saw these as I'm really into strobing and contouring at the moment so I'm always looking for new products to try. For £3 you get 3 crayons and a sharpener so you are getting a lot for your money. The strobe crayons aren't overly glittery, with exception of the silver one, and there is a shade for most skin tones. The contour crayons are actually far too dark for me so would be more suitable for darker skin tones or for summer time if you have  tan. The formula on both sets of crayons is great, they're really creamy and soft and very pigmented.

Blush Stick - £1.50

I really like blush sticks so was pleased to see Primark offering one. I picked it up in this really pretty pink shade (they also had a bright coral) and it's perfect for summer. This is really easy to work with but is super pigmented. I got a bit carried away with this when I first tried it because I didn't expect it to have much colour pay off at all but I was wrong! A lovely little product.

Swatches of the strobe crayons (top 3), contour crayons (next 3) and the blush stick.

9 Shade Eye Palette - £2.50

Next I picked up one of the 9 shade eye palettes which are dupes of the Mac X 9 palettes, and I didn't really expect much at all from this but was quite surprised. The shadows are creamy and really easy to work with. They don't have a huge amount of colour pay off so you do need to pack quite a bit on, but they're certainly not the worst eyeshadows I've ever tried, and for the price you can't go too wrong.

Tinted Lip Oil - £2.00 & Lipstick Crayon £2.00

I've seen lip oils floating around Instagram recently and have been really intrigued so when I saw that Primark had an offering I really wanted to try one. To be honest, it seems like nothing more than a clear lip gloss to me, I couldn't see any benefit from it all and no colour whatsoever so it did seem like a bit of a pointless product to me. I was more impressed with the lip crayon which is a beautiful bright pinky-purple shade which is nice for summer. This is really smooth and very pigmented and doesn't dry your lips out at all. It wears away after a couple of hours but does leave a nice wash of colour behind.

Nail polishes - 80p each

Finally I picked up a couple of nail polishes as I already own quite a few of the Primark ones and really like them. I picked them in shades Emerald (green) and Lagoon (blue) as they were the 2 that jumped out at me the most. The formula of Lagoon is much better than that of Emerald but both dried to a nice finish. These polishes get a lot of stick due to smell of them, but it really doesn't bother me that much, and for 80p they are a bargain.

Overall I'm much more impressed with these products than the last ones I bought and Primark have really upped their beauty game recently.
