June's Nailbox Review - Festival Fever*

I was thrilled when Nailbox UK got in touch and asked me to review one of their boxes as I've been wanting to try this service for some time. I was sent the box from June and it is excellent!

This months theme is Festival Fever and the polishes are all lovely and bright, so they are perfect for the festival season.

The price of the box starts at £15 including postage for a month to month subscription, but if you sign up for 3 months or more, the price comes down. Even at £15 it is excellent value for money.

L-R: Rimmel Cheeky Chap. Bourjois Turquoise Block, Essie Jazzy Jubilant and OPI Is Mai Tai Crooked?

First up is Rimmel London Sweetie Heart Velvet Matte in the shade Cheeky Chap. This is a beautiful bright cornflower blue that dries down 100% matte. This swatch shows 3 thin coats and I found that even though it is quite pigmented, it did need the 3 coats to even it out. The RRP is £3.99.

Next I added Essie Jazzy Jubilant over the top as I knew that the two would go really well together. This is one thin covering of the glitter and I did find that I needed to do a bit of placement with the glitters, but it wasn't a problem. The RRP of this polish is £7.99.

Next up is OPI Is Mai Tai Crooked? which is a beautiful pastel orange shade. This swatch shows 2 coats and it was a dream to work with and I love the colour for this time of year. This is the polish I was most excited about but was gutted when I took it off and realised it had stained my nails a horrible yellow colour. Really disappointing. RRP £12.50.

Finally we have Turquoise Block from Bourjois which is my absolute favourite from the box. This swatch shows 2 thin coats but it almost covered perfectly on the first coat. It has a lovely wide brush which made application a dream. The RRP is £5.99.

I decided to add some simple floral nail art to the OPI using a Moyra stamping plate and white polish, and I think the combination works so well. I got a lot of compliments on these nails.

The last product in the box was some lovely Stylist Nail Art Tape from Elegant Touch. I've never seen these before but was really excited to try them out. I found these incredibly easy to use...just a case of peeling them off, lining them up on your nails and trimming them down. The combinations you could do are endless! The RRP is £3.95.

I really loved using all of the products in this months box and all of the colours are stunning. The total RRP of everything in the box is £34.42 so at £15, the box is a real bargain. I also love the excitement of not knowing what you will get in the box.

July's box will have a Paradise theme which sounds really lovely, so if you would like to get your hands on that then make sure you sign up on the Nailbox website before midnight on the 21st July.

  1. Ooh this box looks so pretty. It's a shame I always miss out on them but I like to collect full collections, so much so that getting one or two polishes from a certain collection just doesn't work for me.
    Yes I'm very weird.

    1. I was really impressed with it. I often find that boxes like this are more miss than hit! I know what you mean, I love collections too. I already have the Rimmel Sweetie Matte collection so this was a dupe for me but my friends daughter will have it so it's not a problem :) xx

  2. This box looks fab! I love the OPI so it's such a shame it stains. Hope they're back to a normal colour now xx
